The current global crises have taken their toll on us too, as I am sure many of you have. We had a lot of responsibility in crisis management for the university sector and of course for our families. Therefore, the new features could not be implemented as quickly as we had hoped. Nevertheless, we hope that you are satisfied with the results.
New Map Preview
The old pixelated preview images for colonizing new maps are a thing of the past. The new maps are now hand-drawn by your settlers themselves. We think that this way the maps have much more charm. However, the settlers are only average drawers, so be careful - their maps are not always exact!

Revised Research
A large part of the understanding of Pico Islands is certainly related to how well the research and its effects are understood. We have not been satisfied with the dialog so far, as it hardly gave any information about how the individual researches are connected.
In the new dialog there is now a presentation of the dependencies of research, their costs and which flask color you need. The new Icon for this Research Tree is . When you select the research icons you will be taken to a details page where you can get information about the research effect, for example which new structures you can build. For some research we tried to explain the new abilities with small animations.
Experienced players may have noticed the two new entries in the research tree.
Previously, unlocked the
Blacksmith and
Smelter. We have now separated this into
Blacksmith and
Smelter.
You can read more about the second new research Storage Order below.
Storage Orders
As soon as you have the first warehouses, there was always the wish to be able to control the storing of goods in a more granular way. Now you have this possibility as soon as you have explored Storage Order. With this you can define whether goods are only stored or only removed in the info dialog of the starthouse and warehouses.
means that the goods are no longer stored.
indicates that the goods are not to be delivered any more.
Workload
Besides the control of the department stores, an often expressed wish was to have an indication of the efficiency of the buildings.
We have now implemented this in a first revision. In the info dialog of most of the buildings you can now find the workload icon which shows you the percentage of workload. If the workload is below 60%, an indicator appears above the building.
The values are not perfect yet, but already a practical tool to find for example Stonecutter without resources or manufacturing buildings that are no longer supplied with goods.
In addition, we improved and fixed the following things:
- create map preview without blocking the user interface
- upgrade to firebase_cpp 6.14.1
- upgrade qt to 5.12.8
- fix stonecutter does not harvest granite from top corner
- fix research resources overlap dialog border
We wish you a lot of fun
